Arts Circle (2009-10)
Arts Circle – the cultural activity group of college is active for last 20 years and has been striving to promote various artistic talents in our students. This year our team of talented artists participated in 14 different competitions at the University of Mumbai Youth Festival and won 6 prizes at the zonal level in the categories of Indian semi-classical vocal, classical instrument – percussion, Indian group song, Marathi elocution and poster making. Vishal Bhange of T.Y.B.A. won second prize in light vocal and Mr. Karunakar Patil of F.Y. B.Com. won second prize in classical instrument – percussion at the final competitions.
Our performers also participated in ten different intercollegiate fests organized by various colleges in Mumbai as well as Navi Mumbai. To name a few- Kshiteej [Mithibai college], Oxygen [Bhavan’s College], Mantra [Ratnam College], Karnataka Sport Academy Festival, Ehlaan [S.I.W.S. college] Maharashtra Utsav [Parnika Sanstha ) and received around 20 prizes in various intercollegiate competitions.
“Yuvati Melava” was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule on 5th January, 2010 and Art Circle presented enchanting entertainment show with dance, song and drama. During 23rd, 25th and 26th January 2010 various competitions were conducted for college students in singing, dancing, mono acting, poster making, T-shirt painting and bridal dress-up. All the events got excellent response from the students.
