DEPT OF COMMRECE & ACCOUNTANCY
Rayat shikshan Sanatha’s Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College (Formerly known as Modern College) was established in 1979 by introducing Degree College. Junior college was initiated in 1983. The Government of Maharashtra and University grant Commission reconditioned it. Prof. S.T. Gadade was the first head of the commerce department who is now acting as ‘Dean’ Faculty of Commerce, University of Mumbai. At the time of commencement of Degree College, the total strength was only 45 students and out of which 26 students were from commerce stream which was more than 50% strength. Today also the strength of commerce students in college is more than 50%.
Dept of commerce is one of the prestigious dept of the college. Apart from regular B.Com course, it has started value added vocational courses for degree college students right from 1st year of their degree course. Dept has also introduced some new add on courses and self financing courses for the benefit of B.Com students. It is well acknowledged fact that students should be able to take up any vocation at the end of their academic career which will elevate the name of the college and at the same time boost the morale of the students if they are placed immediately after their graduation.
