DEPARTMENT OF BACHELOR OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES (BMS)

Dept of BMS is one of the prestigious departments of this college. It is the Semi Professional course. BMS course was started by University of Mumbai to provide foundation & basic knowledge of management education, which is necessary for the different postgraduate management courses. By keeping this in mind & by considering the need of the Navi Mumbai, our college has started this course in 1999. 162 students are studying in our college under this course.

ACTIVITIES

(I) Experts Lectures

1. Arranged lecture on Survey method for Data collection for T.Y.B.M.S.  From DNA Group.

2. Arranged lecture on Career opportunities for BMS students by MET Bandra.

3. Arranged lecture on Personality Development by Prof Alka Suryawanshi H.R. Consultant.

4. Arranged lecture on Interview Tech. by Prof Ms. Laxmi  Oriental Management Institute, Vashi.

(II) Inter Collegiate Competition “Zeal”

From 2008-09 we have started organizing Inter collegiate festival titled “Zeal” in which Debate, Elocution, Dance Quiz, Share-E-Bazar & Fashion Show competition etc. are planned. Near about 13 colleges participated in this inter collegiate festival.

(III) Industrial Visit:

Every Year as a part of curriculum Industrial visit is organized for BVMS Students. In the year 2009 -10 we arranged Industrial visit at Silvasa where we visited Parle, Donear, Ply  Sanmica making Co.

(IV) Exhibitions:  

In the year 2007-08 S.Y.B.M.S Students organized “Export Import Procedure Documents” Exhibition. B.com & M.C.V.C students visited to the exhibition.

In the year 2008-09 S.Y.B.M.S. students arranged exhibition of Management experts & Industrialist Titled “Pioneers of Modern Indian Industry”. In which Students collected Photographs & information regarding the contribution of Management expert/Industrialist & exhibited the same in College Auditorium. The exhibition was open for two days. Students from B.Sc. IT,  B. Com, M.Com. B.Sc. visited to the Exhibition.

In the year 2009-10 F.Y.B.M.S. students organized exhibition on Accountancy & prepared posters on Accounting cycle, Accounting standards, Types of errors, Types of accounts etc.

(V) Projects for students

Individual Project: For TYBMS as a part of curriculum of university of Mumbai there is separate Individual Project & separate passing for it. Every student has to prepare the same under the guidelines of the project guide. In the month of January the University appoints an External Examiner for the assessment of the project & Viva.

Group Projects: As a part of internal assessment students do their Group project for various subjects. They take the permission from the industrial unit which they select for their group project. They collect the data & information & submit the same to the Subject teacher.

1.    Employment Camp on 7^th Sept 2007.

2.    Reliance executive security training exam

3.    CA IT 100 hours training for 700 students from 2008-09.

4.    MBA CET Entrance Exam by TIME, IMS, Career Launcher, ICFAI Exam Centre

5.    Regularly arranging campus placements.

6.    Remedial coaching classes for weak students.

7.    Active involvement in establish and starting Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Institute of Management and Research Centre at Kharghar (For New course MMS, MCA from 2009-10.

8.    Received Grant from UGC for Add on course in Tally package. UGC has sanctioned Rs.7,00,000. Dept has prepared syllabus for this course to be submitted for approval to university.

1.      Indian Merchant Chamber, Mumbai - conducting   Diploma in shipping and logistic management

2.      IIEIM (Indian Institute of Export & Import Management) -  conducting Export /Import Certificate &Diploma Courses

3.      I.C.A.I (Navi Mumbai Chapter) - 100 hours I.T. Training for C.A. Students.

4.      Thane Belapur Industries Association, Navi Mumbai. College has organized Two days National Seminar on Human Resource Management ‘in Collaboration with TBIA .

5.      Govt. Of Maharashtra, Employment Exchange Thane - Organized Six weeks Retail Management Course for Reserve Category Students

Future Plan

1        To start MMS, & P.G. courses in Business Management.-

3        To organize State level seminar on Recent Trends in Management.

4        To organize Career Fair.

5        To Provide Wy-Fy facilities to the students for easy networking.

6        To increase relations with industry people to get more & more interaction with them.

7        To Increase number of Reference Books & Journals easy access to library facilities.

8        To provide the facilities of online Management Journals.

9        To Provide Facility of Crash course for M.B.A. entrance Exam.

10    To conduct seminars & lectures for various entrance exams like, CAT, CET etc.

11    To organize Management fest.

12    To set up language lab. To enhance the management communication skills.
