Biotech Association Activities
(I) INAUGURATION OF BIOTECH ASSOCIATION AT KARMAVEER BHAURAO PATIL COLLEGE, VASHI
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College, Vashi, Navi Mumbai has started B. Sc. (Biotechnology) course from academic year 2008-09. Students of F. Y. and S. Y. B. Sc. (Biotech) have formed Biotech Association for intradepartmental activities. Through Biotech Association, various programmes and activities like Group Discussion, Seminars, Industrial visits, Guest lectures, Exhibition and some competitions will be arranged throughout the year.
Inauguration of Biotech Association was done on Thursday, 27th August 2009. For the inauguration of this biotech Association activity Dr. Babu Vakil, Head of R & D activities of Guru Nanak Institute of Research and Development, Matunga, Mumbai came as a chief guest and delivered a motivating speech to students of F. Y. and S. Y. B. Sc. (Biotechnology). He, in a very simple and lucid language guided students on careers in Biotechnology.

(III) Lecture on Clinical Trials – CREMA
Lecture on Clinical Research Opportunities was organized by Biotech Association on 7th October 2009. Resource person from CREMA (Clinical Research Education and Management Academy), Mumbai delivered a lecture on Clinical Research Opportunities in India.
(IV) Intra-collegiate Competitions
Intracollegiate competitions were conducted on 7th January 2010 in (i) Topic Presentation (ii) Debate (iii) Quiz. Students of F. Y. B. Sc. and S. Y. B. Sc. participated with great enthusiasm. Prizes were given to First and Second ranks in each category on 16th Feb. 2010
(V) LECTURE ON CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN BIOTECHNOLOGY
Prof. S. N. Jogdand delivered a lecture on "Career Opportunities in Biotechnology" to students of F. Y. B.Sc. and S. Y. B. Sc. on 15th January 2010.
